Abstract: Sermon delivered by the priest Cayetano Fernández on 13 October 1875 in Seville, about the recovery and subsequent restoration of The vision of Saint Anthony of Padua, by Murillo (1656). In 1874, a thief cut the figure of the saint from the painting to sell it to an American antique dealer. However he returned it back to the cathedral of Seville, which allowed the painting to be restored by the artist Salvador Martínez Cubells.
