Abstract: 'España: obra pintoresca' was published in 1842. Decorated with emblematic illustrations. Despite it was an ambitious publishing project it failed, being published only the first volume, devoted to Catalonia. Among the artists there were José Puiggarí y Llobet who participated with the drawings for the compositions of the woodcut artists: Martínez, Ramón Sáez, Ildefonso Cibera, and Josep Torner. Among the printmakers Antonio Roca Sallent stands out although there were other experts as Ramon Alabern and Àngel Fatjó y Bartra. Another technique used is etching with Lluís Rigalt signing some original double prints on landscape and architecture.
